We began this research project in 2016 with the help of the Atlantic Ecosystems Initiative funding program that provided us with the opportunity to expand our limited knowledge of forested wetlands in Atlantic Canada.
This project incorporates several studies from across the 4 provinces of the Canadian Maritimes: Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, Prince Edward Island and Newfoundland.
Through the collaboration of our diverse number of researchers from numerous institutions over the last 3 years, we have solidified ourselves as the Atlantic Forested Wetlands Network to continue spreading our knowledge and understanding of forested wetland ecosystems with the desire to improve their conservation.
